Join us for free skill-sharing workshops at First UCC and in a variety of locations on Saturday April 23rd, 10:00a-4:00p: Where we strive to Create Awareness of unhealthy levels of carbon; Build Skills to create things ourselves; Create Choice for a healthier Earth!

  • Create a garden bed for “Free Food Help Yourself”, Join a compost bin building workshop, Attend an Electric Vehicle session/demo, Attend a CRWP rain garden workshop, Help out in the Carleton Arboretum, Hand make bees wax candles, Join a Do It Yourself Household workshop, Come Sew a Scarf- Hat- Potholder, “Do it by bike” with Bike Northfield, Join a nature walk/birding the the Arb, Attend the Art of Coffee Roasting, Create paper Origami flowers for our soup dinner tables-

4:30pm- 7:30p Weitz Center 3rd St E. Northfield Earth Day Free-Soup Supper/Potluck, Exhibitors and Entertainment

Join us at 4:30pm at the Weitz Center for Earthly Exhibitors, Entertainment and a Free soup supper with home made bread and Potluck.  There will be plenty of soup- no need to register. We hope you can join us!-   There will be tables of local sustainable organizations wanting to update you and share how to get involved in the sustainability movement here in Northfield. This community event is an opportunity for us to network and support each other in the quest to change how we think and live with the goal of living on a healthy planet.

Earth day Soup Supper Speakers: 5:30-6:1)

5:30-5:45-Alice Madden with “Community Power will share how they are creating a clean, local, equitable, affordable, and reliable energy system for Minnesotans on our journey to a better energy future.

 5:45-5:55- Cliff Martin of the Environmental Quality Commission will share the why, how, and what of getting curbside composting up and running in Northfield.

5:55-610- Erica Zweifel and Cliff Kaehler will share how Northfield Area Community Solar and Minnesota Community Solar are creating a community response to climate change in providing a local choice for your renewable energy.
